Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Forbidden emerged as a groundbreaking force in the thrash metal movement during the 1980s. Formed in mid 80’s, the band quickly gained recognition for their technical prowess, intricate songwriting, and boundary-pushing approach to the genre. Their debut album, “Forbidden Evil” (1988), showcased their unique blend of aggression and complexity, setting them apart from their contemporaries.

With their sophomore release, “Twisted into Form” (1990), Forbidden solidified their reputation as masters of technical thrash metal. The album’s dynamic compositions, complex guitar work, and thought-provoking lyrics demonstrated the band’s evolution and maturity. Their music seamlessly bridged the gap between aggression and musical sophistication, earning them a devoted following.

Forbidden’s live performances matched the intensity of their recordings, earning them a reputation as an electrifying and powerful act on stage. However, despite their musical achievements, the band faced internal challenges that led to a hiatus in 2012. Though their active years were relatively brief, Forbidden’s impact on the thrash metal genre remains enduring, inspiring countless bands and contributing to the evolution of technical and progressive metal.
